2015, Revelations, gratitude, and 2016
I spend time at the beginning of each year to do some reflecting on my life. I find that it helps me to stay grounded and grateful to the people and the good things that come into my life. thinking over on last year brought a lot of both back into the forefront.
2015 was a good year for my career but it was a difficult year for my family in terms of rebuilding. We had to reconstruct our family around the loss of Chris' brother, Evan. My mom's side of the family had to adjust to its first full year without several of our beloved members.
While we rebuilt our lives without our loved ones we also rebuilt our living room, too. It is now solid as a rock and should last a few hundred more years, God willing. Little by little we will make sure the rest of this grand house is lovingly restored.
2015 also brought me some of the most amazing opportunities of my career. First came the Revelations series; Cast in Blood, Cast in Fire, and Cast in Shadow, where I got to work with the two authors I admire most --who just so happen to be my two best friends.
Some of the most fun moments of my career thus far were spent working on this series. This is the first time I ever served as a project manager of sorts and I have to say I really enjoyed it. Of course, awesome coauthors and the world's best publisher make it easy.
The end of 2015 brought some really great news for my writing. My supernatural mystery series, Samantha Recce, was picked up by Devil Dog Press, starting with a three book contract. I am so freaking excited about this.
I've been working on expanding my novella Shifters for about three years now. I finished the novelization and I'm really proud of how it turned out. I know that fans of the original will be ecstatic. You all asked me to make it longer and I listened. Thank you.
The original novella was actually #3 on a Goodreads list; The Top Horror Novellas of 2012 and I have a feeling all the folks who loved the novella will like the novel even better. DDP had a beautiful cover created and I can not wait for my little baby to go out into the world. I'll give you more information on that as it comes.
This brings me to 2016. I have seven books under contract for this year and I am loving every minute of this journey. I also have the chance to work on a story with an author I deeply respect and admire. This collaboration had me Snoopy Dancing around the house and I think it will do the same for you. Oh, I know, you want me to tell you who it is.
Not yet. As I tell my oldest constantly, "You'll never be a doctor if you don't have any patience" Okay, so I love puns, sue me. All will be revealed in time.
Back to the seven books under contract, I have three in the Samantha Reece series, one left in the Revelations series, Cast in Shadow, it's in beta readers hands currently, and three new novels in a spin off of Revelations with my awesome coauthor, Christine Sutton.
The spin off is going to be called Revelations Mysteries and the first book is titled, Hell Inc. It's going to be lighter and more comical than the first three. That said, Christine and I will be working hard to make sure that Revelations readers enjoy Hell Inc. I promise, personally, to give you the best transition I can.

I can't imagine my life without you guys in it and I give you my word to always give you 100% in everything I write. Thank you for everything you do and for taking the time to read my words.
